How to Send and Receive Text Messages (SMS) in RingCentral

Use your business number to send professional text messages; no personal cell required.

To send a text:
1. In the RingCentral app, click the Messages icon (speech bubble) in the left menu.
2. Click the Compose (pencil) icon.
3. Select Text and enter the recipient's phone number or contact name.
4. Type your message and press Send.

To receive texts:
- Incoming texts appear in your Messages tab automatically.
- You'll get a notification on your device if you have notifications enabled.

Tips:
- You can text-enable your existing business number; ask your Deploy Right Implementation Manager if you're not sure if yours is set up.
- Keep business texts professional; they're tied to your business line.
- Texts sent after hours are still delivered; recipients just see your business number.

Important: If customers opt out of texts by replying STOP, do not text them again. This is required by law.
