How to Make and Receive Calls in RingCentral
Learn the basics of placing and answering calls using your RingCentral phone system.
To make a call:
1. Open the RingCentral app.
2. Click the **Phone** icon in the left menu.
3. Type a number or search a contact name in the dial pad.
4. Press the green call button.
To receive a call:
- A notification will pop up on your screen or phone with the caller's name/number.
- Click **Accept** to answer, or **Decline** to send to voicemail.
To transfer a call:
1. While on a live call, click the **Transfer** button.
2. Choose **Warm Transfer** (you talk to the person first) or **Blind Transfer** (it goes straight to them).
3. Enter the extension or contact name and confirm.
Tips:
- Use **Do Not Disturb** (DND) mode when you need uninterrupted focus, Go to your profile icon and toggle it on.
- Dial extensions directly by entering the extension number after the main line connects, or use the app's internal directory.
